Electronic music artist UFO95 has just revealed his upcoming EP called “Backward Improvement”. The EP – comprising six tracks – will be released through Tresor Records and will be available from March 8th. Cogitor, one of the tracks, is now available on the label.
“All the tracks draw on the classics of the techno genre as the EP’s title implicitly references such influences,” the artist said. UFO95, who now only performs live sets, experimented with unrelating and stripped down techno live on stage when leaving out drum machines and bass lines. He blends repetition and deliberate loops to make his live sets more outstanding.
Always inspired and passionate about techno from the 90’s and early 00’s, UFO95 has presented the ‘Backward Improvement’ EP as the first ‘chronicle’ of his sound. “It’s a dream coming true and a full-circle moment for me,” he said. He then went on to add, “Music-wise, I am going back to where I come from.”
Tresor Records has been a long-standing label with historic releases including works from Detroit and Berlin, to Birmingham and Edinburgh. Surrounded by such exceptional music and high quality, UFO95 said he is thrilled to release the EP with Tresor. Accompanying the release is a teaser clip that the artist describes as “a little extract of the full A/V live we are working on with visual artist Lei. The focus is on minimalist, textured and abstract synced algorithm noises.”
UFO95’s Backward Improvement is available for pre-order on Bandcamp. The EP will be available to stream starting March 8th
