Justin Timberlake has teased his new album ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, releasing an album trailer and premiering his lead single ‘Selfish’. The singer debuted his new music at a free concert in Memphis, which he had announced a week prior. Timberlake played at the Orpheum Theatre yesterday, where he performed ‘Selfish’ live for his fans.
After the show, Timberlake gave fans a sneak preview of ‘Selfish’ by uploading a snippet of the chorus to Instagram. In the lyrics, Timberlake croons: “If I get jealous, I can’t help it / I want every bit of you, guess I’m selfish.” In addition, he uploaded a portion of his album trailer, narrated by Benicio del Toro, which features a model gas station and car, with JT gazing at a painted sunset.
It was previously speculated that new music was coming when Timberlake wiped his social media accounts. His last solo album was 2018’s ‘Man Of The Woods’. Timberlake recently reunited with N’SYNC for their comeback single ‘Better Place’, their first song in more than 20 years, which he described as a “love letter to our fans”.
The singer will perform as ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ musical guest on January 27, alongside guest host Dakota Johnson. In other news, comedian Katherine Ryan called out Timberlake for his past behaviour towards Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, calling him “a grubby little eel face”.
