London rapper AntsLive has released his latest single, “Cutlery,” marking his first new music of the year. “Cutlery” features trap-influenced beats and lyrics including, “I shut down shows in Ireland/Coulda put that mosh pit on the Richter scale.” Commenting on the track, the artist said, “I’m on this energy all 2023. Taking it back to basics.” In addition to “Cutlery,” AntsLive has promised to release more music this year.
AntsLive rose to fame on the back of his track “Number One Candidate,” whose music video attracted over one million views on TikTok. He has since been chosen as a support artist for Aitch and has performed at The Great Escape festival as part of their 2023 lineup.
In an interview with NME in February 2023, AntsLive discussed his clear vision for his music. He highlighted the importance of music videos, stating they are “a dying art” that are essential for helping brand a track in a crowded market. AntsLive said he has “a concrete vision to make a UK anthem with ‘Number One Candidate,'” which incorporates brass and horn sounds, as he believed it was a combination that hadn’t yet been fully explored in the UK rap scene.
