Los Angeles radio station, dublab, has been awarded a grant to program music and art in the Tom Bradley International Terminal of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for the next three to five years, according to the broadcaster. In a tweet, dublab confirmed the news through a video with interior shots of the airport along with the caption: “It’s been years in the making”. The grant was awarded by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Los Angeles World Airports.
“We are honoured to curate diverse and memorable art experiences to enhance and humanise the travel experience,” reads the video text. The programme will reportedly feature original compositions, exhibitions, and performances by more than 30 artists.
dublab opened a new headquarters in Los Angeles’ University Park neighbourhood last May which serves as a hub to host workshops, classes, and roundtable discussions. The radio station is committed to cultivating and supporting local cultural ecosystems worldwide, promoting curiosity, experimentation, inclusivity, and connection through its community-generated radio.
Since its broadcasting began in 1999, dublab has expanded to include art, films, and various events in its programming. Despite having roots in LA, dublab now hosts shows DJs and artists worldwide. To support dublab, click here.
