Russell, who directed films such as “Amsterdam” and “Silver Linings Playbook,” has been confirmed to helm an upcoming biopic about legendary Latin musician Linda Ronstadt’s life and career, according to a report from Variety. Last week, it was revealed that Selena Gomez will portray Ronstadt in the film, with producer John Boylan and James Keach also attached to the project. In recent news, Ronstadt’s classic hit “Long Long Time” enjoyed a surge in streaming numbers after it was used in the third episode of HBO’s The Last Of Us.
