A Greener Future (AGF) has announced the most environmentally friendly festivals for 2023, via its Sustainability Awards. AGF is a nonprofit company that focuses on environmental impact reduction and sustainability, offering “green event and festival certification” as part of its remit of helping organisations and venues worldwide become more sustainable. Organisers of live events apply for an “independent audit and certification” process. The company aims to help improve resource efficiency and environmental impact.
The awards issued certification for sustainability in 2023 to several festivals, including BST Hyde Park, Sziget, and Primavera Sound. Other events awarded included We Love Green, Boom, Northside, OyaFestivalen, and Tremor Festival. The full list of awardees is available here.

CEO Claire O’Neill said that the comprehensive AGF framework had become very comprehensive over the last 15 years. O’Neill added that these festivals and events were ahead of the curve: they show how we can all do things differently while having fun at the same time.
