All Saints star Shaznay Lewis has released her first solo single in two decades entitled ‘Miracle’. The track is a combination of pop and R&B and features emotive lyrics such as “And you’ll find me/Rising where we fall/In a sunlit dream/Where nobody has been before/And it’s like nothing that you’ve seen/I can explain it all/No time to be cynical/Right now, we need a miracle.” The musician sought inspiration from her 25-year journey in the music industry to create this song, which emphasises self-love and acceptance.
Speaking about the track in a press release, Lewis said: “‘Miracle’ was a journey, a relentless writing process between Emily Phillips and me. We pushed each other, we changed it a lot, and when I finally listened to it I realised it was a love song to myself, about the person I’ve been for the past 25 years and where I am now.” The musician said ‘Miracle’ is a message of hope that encourages her to write with self-assurance and confidence that brings her happiness. This release is a reintroduction to Lewis, who enjoyed significant success as part of the all-female pop group All Saints in the early 00s.
According to a press release, Lewis started working on the new music in the summer of 2022, collaborating with Emily Phillips, Ant Whiting, Ben Cullum, Michael Angelo, Johan Hugo, Jez Ashurst, Moyses Dos Santos and Charlie Stacey. As a member of All Saints, Lewis achieved five UK number ones, multi-platinum albums, two BRIT Awards, and a MOBO and Ivor Novello award. Her last solo album was ‘Open’, released in 2004.
Lewis was recently announced as one of the Mighty Hoopla festival’s performers scheduled to take the stage in London. ‘Miracle’ marks an inspirational return for the performer, showcasing her ability to write and compose a song that rises above cynicism and instead promotes acceptance and self-love
