Despite hundreds of police interviews, there are still no answers in the case of a Welsh man who went missing over a decade ago. Kyle Vaughan, from Newbridge in Caerphilly county, was last seen alive on December 30, 2012, when he left home at the age of 24. His car was involved in a crash on the same day. The police received around 180 intelligence logs and took nearly 900 witness statements while interviewing over 200 people, but they still have no concrete leads in the case.

Initially, the case began as a missing person inquiry and later became a murder investigation, but no clues have been found to date. Kyle’s mother, Mary Lucas, died in 2018 of cancer, never knowing what happened to her son. She, however, believed that he was dead and implored his killers to reveal where they had buried him.

The car that Mr. Vaughan was driving on the day of his disappearance, a silver Peugeot 306, was involved in a single-vehicle accident on the A467 between Crosskeys and Risca. At the time, he was known as “Jabbers” to his friends and was believed to be wearing a dark beanie hat, a dark t-shirt, denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.

Despite the length of time that has elapsed, Gwent Police’s head of crime, Det Ch Supt Nicky Brain, stated that the inquiry “remains very much active.” Anyone with information regarding Kyle Vaughan’s disappearance has been urged by the force to come forward
