French electronic music duo Justice have teased their upcoming fourth studio album. The duo, consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, recently shared a 30-second clip of new music on social media, with the caption “Happy New Year”. While no exact release date has been announced, label founder Pedro Winter-AKA Busy P-previously confirmed that there will be both a new album and a tour in 2024.
The duo’s third album, Woman, was released in 2016 and received critical acclaim. In celebration of the 15th anniversary of their 2007 breakout album Cross, they also released an unheard original demo of their hit song “D.A.N.C.E.” in 2022. Cross was known for its innovative use of sampling, with 400 audio pieces layered throughout the album.
Winter, who first worked with Justice in 2007 when they debuted on the Ed Banger label, recently spoke of his excitement for the new album. In an interview with NME, he said: “Listening to Cross, I had goosebumps – I loved each and every note of this record, and I have goosebumps when I’m listening to the forthcoming [2024] Justice album, too”. Cross went on to be certified gold in the UK and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
Fans of Justice will no doubt be eagerly awaiting this upcoming release, having enjoyed their unique blend of electro, rock, and disco over the past decade.
