Police in Dublin are investigating a shooting that took place at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, which left one man dead and another seriously injured. According to reports, the incident occurred around 8 pm local time and both victims were taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital. The first victim, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the second, a man in his 40s, is being treated for gunshot wounds and is in a serious condition.
The authorities have not yet confirmed whether the younger man was shot or killed in some other way. The police have requested the Office of the State Pathologist to lend their expertise in the investigation. As a result, the surrounding area has been cordoned off and the road leading to the restaurant has been closed for technical examination.
The detectives handling the case are treating the attack as gang-related and believe it to be connected to a drug and gun-related conflict that has been brewing in the area for some time. Although there is no official statement yet from the police, it is believed that the shooting was a targeted attack.
