Iranian-American duo Flower Storm, formed by Sepehr and Kasra V, have announced the release of their second collection of music called ‘Do’. The forthcoming EP will feature five tracks, blending traditional Iranian music with forward-thinking electronic sounds. Lead single ‘World’s creator is my ally (Revival mix)’ is already available, with the full EP becoming available on February 2.
Flower Storm’s debut ‘Yek’ was released earlier this year with the idea that club music can also represent a nation’s culture. The project blends traditional ancient Iranian instruments such as Santoor and Tonbak with electronic music and samples from different sources including movies and dialogue. “On this release we deepen our signature sound, taking elements of traditional Iranian music into various styles of electronic music,” they said in a statement.
The duo’s creative process is based on drawing from the history of their ancestors and developing it through modern electronic soundscapes. To pay homage to their earliest influences, Flower Storm has announced the release of a very limited dubplate of three unreleased versions of tracks featured on both their debut and this upcoming EP.
‘Do’ EP by Flower Storm will be releasing on February 2, with pre-orders already available on their Bandcamp page
