Tommy Jackson and Jammo Irving, better known as My Nu Leng, have announced a new project in the form of MNL. The duo, known for their contributions to UK rave culture, will embark on a new musical direction with this venture. The announcement comes 12 years after the release of their first track.

“My recent musical output has felt like its own home, away from the aggy, grittiness of My Nu Leng,” the duo revealed on Instagram. MNL. is set to explore more experimental and diverse electronic sounds. The upcoming “For The Longest Time” EP on Shall Not Fade, set to release in January 2024, will feature these new sounds.

The EP’s first single “Somerset Drift” showcases a blend of techno, garage, and breaks to create an underground UK sound. The second single, “So True,” released on December 1, received a positive response from audiences and has already made waves in clubs.

My Nu Leng is known for their blend of genres like garage, jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, breaks, and dubstep. Their global tour spanned 10 years, performing at major events such as Glastonbury Festival. MNL. serves as a new creative direction for the duo, allowing them to express themselves without restrictions.

The announcement does not signify the end of My Nu Leng, as the duo still has shows lined up. Regardless, MNL. is sure to offer a breath of fresh air for the established artists. Fans can pre-order MNL.’s forthcoming “For The Longest Time” EP on Bandcamp
