GTA 6 trailer leaked online, teases 2025 release date

Contrary to its original plan of releasing the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) trailer, Rockstar Games was forced to debut it earlier after an online leak that revealed some of the game’s details. The first official trailer for the upcoming game, which was teased by Rockstar as coming with heightened interactivity, more expansions, and improved graphics, reveals snippets of social media footage in the game. It features live streams capturing various activities in the game, including fast cars, beaches, strip clubs, alligators, police raids, boat parties, and another in-game nightclub.

According to Rockstar, GTA VI continues its efforts to push the boundaries of what is possible in highly interactive, story-driven open-world experience games. The game’s founder, Sam Houser, noted that they were thrilled to share the new game’s vision with players across the world.

GTA VI will be set back in its original location of Vice City, a fictional version of Miami, and follows the story of ‘love and crime” between the main character, Lucia, and another character. Rockstar has confirmed that it will land on Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 but made no mention of releasing it on PC yet. The game will be released along with its online open-world iteration of GTA Online.

Interestingly, Rockstar is debuting the game after more than a decade of GTA V, which was much loved by gamers. In 2018, GTA Online’s After Hours update introduced the option to buy your nightclub, allowing you to customize and design how it looked and book top DJs in-game such as Solomun, Tale Of Us, Dixon, and The Blessed Madonna. Rockstar is yet to reveal who will feature in the GTA VI soundtrack, although past in-game radio stations have been hosted by famous musicians, including Frank Ocean, Arca and Rosalía, and Danny Brown.
