A former military bunker in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany has been transformed into a cutting-edge nightclub named Open Ground. The venue is spread over two rooms – Freifeld and Annex – and boasts a total capacity of 1,200 partygoers. Open Ground has already announced its first four nights, with plans to keep the party going for 24 hours a day. Funktion-One soundsystem, food available outside and a 24/7 license are some of the salient features of the former bunker-turned-club.
Hard Wax staff member Markus Riedel conceptualised and created Open Ground. And it will play host to concerts by some of the most popular DJs in the country. For instance, sets by Mark Ernestus, KAT7, Mala, Josey Rebelle, Struktur, Elke and Pretty Sneaky are planned for the club’s opening night, i.e. December 8, 2017.
On day two, Open Ground will host Arthur, Viola Klein, Calibre, Tasha, Appleblim, DJ Pete and Stenny who will play non-stop till 8:AM. Willow, Akua, Tapes, Al Wootton and many others will rock the venue during the second weekend. Turn it up!
