Hip hop legend Ghostface Killah has announced the release of his new memoir, titled “Rise Of A Killah: My Life In The Wu-Tang,” which will be available to purchase next year. The book, which covers moments from his life as a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, is named after his 2018 track called “Rise Of The Ghostface Killah.” It examines his childhood growing up in Staten Island, his experiences with crime and violence, and his commitment to his family, particularly supporting his brother who has muscular dystrophy.
The memoir also looks back at the creation of some of his most iconic lyrics and a formative touring trip to Japan in 1997 with the Wu-Tang Clan. It provides a rich narrative of the performer’s life, filled with stories and imagery. This visual record offers an insight into one of the most iconic figures in hip hop.
Ghostface has previously published a comic book series named “Twelve Reasons to Die” and a comical memoir based on one of his musical personas called “The World According to Pretty Toney.” In October, Wu-Tang released their first single in six years called “Claudine,” featuring Ghostface Killah and Method Man. The track is based on the 1974 Harlem-based film Claudine, covering themes such as heartbreak and love.
“Rise Of A Killah: My Life in The Wu-Tang” is out in May 2024. Fans can pre-order it now on the publisher’s website. Ghostface is among the most respected and admired hip hop artists, known for his unique flow and skill in storytelling. This new memoir is set to give a glimpse into his world and his experiences as one of the founding members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
