Two men have been convicted for the murder of a popular Turkish DJ named Mehmet Koray Alpergin, who was killed near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Last year in October, Alpergin and his girlfriend, Gozde Dalbudak, were taken captive in central London before being moved to a bar named Stadium Lounge which is located near the stadium. During this time, Alpergin was beaten, burned, throttled, and stabbed before being dumped in a woodland near Essex. Kennedy and Kavak were found guilty of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and manslaughter. Samuel Owusu-Opoku was found guilty of two counts of kidnapping, while Steffan Gordon admitted kidnapping and was found guilty of false imprisonment.

The 34-year-old Dalbudak was locked in a bathroom for two days during the attack before being released by her captors. According to her, Alpergin had told her not to be afraid, before being beaten.
