Four teenage boys have been missing since Sunday morning, and a police search is now underway. Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson and Hugo Morris are believed to have been driving in a silver Ford Fiesta with the registration HY14 GVO in the Harlech and Porthmadog areas of Gwynedd at the time of their disappearance. Mountain rescue teams are currently searching for the car.
A Coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon was deployed to search the northeast of Porthmadog around the Glaslyn Nature Reserve at 4:30 am GMT on Tuesday. However, it has since returned to its base. Chris Lloyd, the chairman of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, said that teams had spent the previous day searching the car parks for the car that the teenagers had been in. He added that the teams are still actively searching for the car and do not have a specific area to focus on.
North Wales Police has asked anyone who has seen the four teenagers to report it to them as soon as possible. In their statement, they said that they were “concerned for their welfare”. Any information that is shared with the police will be kept confidential.
As the search for the missing teenagers continues, the families of the boys have urged anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward and share it with the authorities. The concern and worry for their safety is growing as every hour passes, and the hope is that they will be found soon and returned home to their loved ones
