West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man. The incident occurred on Monday night in Laburnum Road, Wolverhampton. Despite the immediate arrival of emergency crews administering advanced life support, the man could not be saved and died at the scene.
The police have cordoned off the area to carry out forensic investigations and are urging anyone who was in the vicinity between 8 pm and 9 pm on Monday to contact them immediately. They also appealed for any piece of information, however small, that could assist with their enquiries.
The police have informed the family of the deceased and are offering support. The area, which had never experienced such an attack before, has the residents worried, with one stating concern for her children’s safety.
West Midlands Ambulance Service responded immediately to the call-out and arrived to find the victim seriously injured. Despite their best efforts, they could not save him. Anyone with any information is urged to report it to the police as soon as possible.
The murder investigation is ongoing, and police are pursuing all available leads to identify the culprit/s. The police also made it clear that any information received will be treated in confidence and that they remain committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice
