Young artist Skye Newman experienced an unusual panel resembling something from the X-Factor, with King Charles, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, alongside Apple’s executive chairman Tim Cook. This unique gathering was part of a music workshop linked to a collaboration between Apple and King’s Trust Creative Labs, marking a continuation of the relationship between the British royals and the Silicon Valley company.

Last year, King Charles shared a playlist featuring seventeen of his favorite songs, which was made available on Apple Music. Interestingly, Sir Elton John was not among the artists selected for this playlist, despite his longstanding support for the King’s Trust charity, formerly known as the Prince’s Trust. The organization, celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year, was established to provide opportunities for disadvantaged and marginalised young people, supporting over 1.3 million individuals throughout the UK so far.

This partnership with Apple reflects the evolving nature of the skills required in today’s workforce, highlighting the importance of mastering contemporary technology for youths aspiring to careers within the music and creative sectors. By blending technology and creativity, the collaboration aims to equip young people with tools that align with the modern demands of these industries.

Additionally, there was a historical connection highlighted at Battersea Power Station, which once supplied electricity to Buckingham Palace. Inside the power station’s control room, the cable running to the Palace was discreetly labeled “Carnaby Street” as a security measure, intended to avoid alerting potential intruders who might have been tempted to disrupt the Palace’s lighting
