GP Hannah Terry named as woman found dead in Dersingham home

A woman discovered deceased at her residence has been locally identified as a general practitioner. The body, belonging to Dr. Hannah Terry—also known as Hannah Cain—was found on Sunday at a home in Fern Hill, Dersingham, Norfolk.

Norfolk Police reported that the ambulance service requested their attendance at the property shortly after 02:20 BST. Following the discovery, a man in his 40s was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and continues to be held.

During a hearing on Monday at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court, the police were given an extra 32 hours to further question the suspect. Although Terry was in her 40s, the police have not yet officially confirmed her identity.

Grimston Medical Centre, where Terry is listed as a member of the medical team, posted a notice stating the practice is “temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team.” A police cordon remains around the property on Fern Hill, and a Home Office post-mortem examination was scheduled for Monday
