Widdecombe suspect charged with planning acts of terror against Farage

Joshua Kerry, 28, who has been accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe, now faces an additional charge related to the preparation of terrorist acts. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans of Counter Terrorism Policing described the recent charge as the outcome of a “hugely intensive and complex investigation.” She emphasized the dedication of a team composed of detectives, analysts, and forensic specialists who pursued multiple lines of inquiry leading to this serious accusation. Kerry, who is from Rotherham, is scheduled to appear in court this Wednesday regarding the terror-related charge.

Representing the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, Frank Ferguson stated that prosecutors collaborated closely with the police to bring the new charge against Kerry. He added that this partnership will continue as the investigation progresses. Widdecombe had a notable political career, serving as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Maidstone in Kent for 23 years and holding ministerial positions under Sir John Major during the 1990s.
