Since returning to the UK, Meghan Markle has maintained a low profile, making only a few appearances in public. In contrast, Prince Harry has been more active, engaging in several public events tied to his involvement with the Invictus Games. Recently, he visited a school in Birmingham to launch an educational initiative inspired by the Games, where he participated in activities including playing pickleball with students and joining a science class focused on prosthetic design.
The Invictus Games are scheduled to take place in Birmingham from July 10 to 17 next year. The event will feature around 550 wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans from 25 countries competing across 12 adaptive sports. Harry also spoke with CTV following a skydive in Toronto, an event done to honor a promise to a 102-year-old Second World War veteran and to support awareness of military charities.
When questioned about the motivations behind the family’s return to the UK, Harry acknowledged that there were “lots of reasons” but chose not to provide further details. Meanwhile, the couple reportedly received a letter authorized by the King, which emphasized their status as private citizens and included instructions to senior government and military personnel about how the Sussexes should be treated.
Relations between Harry and King Charles have been strained since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their roles as senior members of the royal family and relocated to the United States. The Sussexes are currently awaiting a decision regarding taxpayer-funded security while residing in the UK. The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) is expected to revisit the question of their police protection now that they are full-time residents rather than visitors
