Police have identified an elderly woman whose death has led to a murder inquiry. Thames Valley Police confirmed that Jill Gant, aged 88, was discovered deceased at a residence on Appleford Drive in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The incident occurred around 14:20 BST on Thursday afternoon.
Following the discovery, officers have been providing support to Ms. Gant’s family, with specially trained personnel assigned to assist them during this difficult time.
A 36-year-old man from the Abingdon area was taken into custody on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. He continues to be held by the police as investigations proceed.
