Watch: Is the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition worth the hype?

On Thursday, the British Museum in London welcomed a significant number of visitors as it opened the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition to the public. This highly anticipated event drew crowds eager to view the historic embroidery.

The Bayeux Tapestry itself is an extraordinary piece, measuring nearly 70 meters (230 feet) in length and dating back close to a millennium. It vividly illustrates the events surrounding the Norman conquest of England, culminating in the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066.
