Jeremy Clarkson’s farm, known as Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, has recently been targeted by thieves who stole eleven sheep. According to Thames Valley Police, the theft took place within the past ten days, with reports of the missing animals received on Wednesday. Officers visited the farm and spoke to Clarkson on Thursday, though no arrests have been made at this stage. The police have called on anyone with information to come forward.
Clarkson, famously recognized for his work on shows such as Top Gear and The Grand Tour, discovered the loss when he was counting his flock alongside Kaleb Cooper, a fellow co-star from the Amazon Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm. Speaking to The Sun, he appealed to those responsible, urging them to return the sheep. He also estimated the value of the stolen animals at over £2,000 and expressed concern that more sheep might have been taken from other parts of the farm.
Diddly Squat Farm has gained widespread attention due to its prominent role in the Clarkson’s Farm series. Clarkson mentioned that the theft likely occurred at night or during a daytime period when the farm was not being filmed, as there is usually a film crew and a drone regularly capturing footage. When asked if he thought the show’s popularity might have made his farm a target, Clarkson responded that it probably made theft more likely but doubted that the animals were taken simply because they were from Diddly Squat Farm.
He also commented on the challenge of securing such a vast area, noting that the farm spans around 1,000 acres. Clarkson reflected on the difficulty in preventing determined thieves from stealing livestock, emphasizing the size of the land and the fact that anyone could be anywhere on the property without being noticed
