In July, Keira McManus, a 16-year-old athlete from Stoke-on-Trent, made history by becoming the first female in CrossFit to secure three teenage world championship titles. At the 2026 CrossFit Games held in California, she competed in the 16-17 age group and triumphed over 19 other participants. This marked her third consecutive championship victory, following two previous wins in the 14-15 age category.
Keira reflected on her achievement, expressing pride in the effort she invested. “I’m quite proud of myself because of all the training that went into it, and I’ve had such a busy year of competing,” she said. “To end the season with a win, it’s just incredible and I’m really happy with it.” Her dedication and consistent training clearly played a major role in her ongoing success.
CrossFit is known for its intense training style, which merges several disciplines such as weightlifting, gymnastics, running, and compound exercises. Competitors face a range of scored challenges, with the ultimate winners at the CrossFit Games earning the distinction of being the “fittest on earth.” Keira’s performance at such a young age highlights her exceptional talent and discipline within this demanding sport.
Her achievement is also deeply connected to her upbringing. Growing up with fitness as a central part of her life was natural, given her family’s involvement in the sport.
