Trawsfynydd plane crash couple from Leicester died from impact trauma, inquest told

During the inquest held in Caernarfon, members of the couple’s family took part remotely via video link. The proceedings revealed that the coastguard had contacted North Wales Police following reports of a potential aircraft collision.

The coroner shared that Dr. Brian Rogers, a pathologist from the Home Office, had provisionally determined that the cause of death for the couple, both in their 50s, was major impact trauma, classified as 1A. Meanwhile, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has commenced an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Due to ongoing inquiries, the inquest has been paused to allow further examination of the events leading up to the incident. Throughout the hearing, the coroner expressed sincere condolences to the family for their loss
