Hudgell Solicitors initiated a claim for damages on behalf of the family involved, and following a delay of ten months awaiting the CCTV footage, representatives from Jet2Holidays presented a compensation offer.
The father of the boys recounted the moment, saying, “We were in the hotel room when the eldest burst into the room. He was limping and there was blood everywhere after he cut all his feet leaving the spa.” The children received immediate medical attention from a doctor present at the site, as they had sustained multiple cuts on their feet, legs, and arms.
Reflecting on the impact of the incident, the father added, “It was scary, and we didn’t go on a package holiday for four years because of what happened, and the kids are still concerned about going through glass doors.” Anne Thomson from Hudgell Solicitors described the event as “must have been a terrifying experience.” She also commented on the CCTV footage, stating it provides “especially uncomfortable viewing and underscores just how fortunate the brothers were to have avoided serious injury.”
Jet2Holidays confirmed that it “reached a settlement in relation to an incident which occurred in 2022.
