Two prisoners charged after attack on Sara Sharif's father

Two inmates at Belmarsh Prison have been formally charged with the attempted murder of Urfan Sharif, a fellow prisoner convicted for the murder of his daughter, Sara Sharif. The individuals identified are Steven Sansom, aged 47, and Adam Watson, aged 39. In addition to the attempted murder charge, both men face other related offenses stemming from the incident that took place on January 1, 2025. This information was confirmed by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The accused are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 26 for their initial hearing. Urfan Sharif, 43, along with Sara’s stepmother Beinash Batool, had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering Sara in their Surrey home in Woking.
