A large fire broke out, affecting five bungalows in south Wales and leading to the evacuation of nearby residents. The incident occurred on Hazlewood Road in Newbridge, within Caerphilly county, on Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries connected to the blaze.
Following the fire, those displaced were relocated to a nearby leisure centre for safety and shelter. Councillor Adrian Hussey confirmed that some residents lost their homes as a result of the incident and are now being provided with temporary accommodation.
According to Councillor Hussey, residents initially attempted to extinguish the flames themselves but were forced to evacuate when the situation escalated beyond their control. He described the extent of the damage, saying, “The houses were absolutely gutted. Their cars were damaged too.”
