An 18-year-old named Tyrece Balcha was fatally shot outside a nightclub in Wembley, an incident that has now led to a murder conviction. Balcha was discovered with gunshot injuries near the Crystal Club on Atlantic Crescent around 5:30 a.m. GMT on September 21, 2025. Although rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his wounds four days later.
During the trial held at the Old Bailey, Ashley Wallace, aged 40 and residing on Shenley Road in Southwark, was found guilty of both murder and possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life. Meanwhile, two other men stood trial alongside Wallace but were acquitted of the murder charge. Additionally, a woman involved in the case was cleared of several serious charges, including possession of a firearm, possession with intent to endanger life, and perverting the course of justice. The jury was unable to reach a verdict regarding a fourth defendant.
Evidence presented in court included CCTV footage revealing that Balcha had been involved in a confrontation inside the Crystal Club. The footage further showed that after the altercation, he was followed outside where the shooting occurred. Following the incident, Wallace left the scene in a vehicle, but police managed to track the car to a location in south-east London and arrested him on September 25.
Critical forensic evidence linked Wallace to the fatal shooting. Investigators discovered a revolver inside the vehicle, which contained Wallace’s DNA.
