A significant low-pressure system has brought heavy rain and thunderstorms to northern and western regions in recent days. More thunderstorms are forecast for northeast Scotland on Wednesday, prompting the Met Office to issue a yellow warning from 13:00 to 21:00 BST. The alert highlights the potential for slow-moving, intense showers accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and hail, which could result in localized flooding and disrupt transport.
