In response to the recent tragic event involving Buxton, a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson expressed sympathy, stating, “Our thoughts are firmly with Georgie’s family, loved ones, friends and colleagues at this incredibly sad and challenging time.” The spokesperson also emphasized the airline’s commitment to supporting those affected, adding, “We’re providing support to loved ones wherever we can and sharing our heartfelt condolences to everyone affected.” They further highlighted that the safety and wellbeing of their staff remain their highest priority and described the incident as devastating.
A representative from Heathrow Airport also offered condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with Georgie’s family and friends, as well as all of our colleagues in the wider Virgin Atlantic family who feel this loss.” Meanwhile, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) confirmed that it is conducting an investigation into the incident alongside the Metropolitan Police. Boeing, the company that manufactures the Dreamliner aircraft involved, has not issued any comments.
