The remix of Fender’s solo album track, featuring a duet with Dean, was released in June of last year. The song presents a dialogue centered around the conclusion of a romantic relationship. Fender has previously expressed that Dean’s contribution enhanced the track significantly.
Their joint performance was first showcased in early June during one of Fender’s shows at London Stadium. A video capturing this live collaboration quickly gained popularity on social media platforms.
“Rein Me In” marks Fender’s debut at number one on the charts, while for Dean, the pop-rock ballad represents her second time achieving the top spot, following her successful single “Man I Need.” Additionally, the duo set new milestones by securing the longest consecutive run in the UK top 40 and accumulating the most weeks within the UK top 10 for any non-Christmas release.
Looking ahead, Fender and Dean still have one notable record to pursue: the longest number one run by any artist. This record is currently held by Frankie Laine, whose 1953 single “I Believe” maintained the top chart position for 18 weeks
