Teens help collapsed man get help after Cardiff's Tafwyl festival

Peacey, from Church Village in Rhondda Cynon Taf, expressed his desire for recognition for two boys who helped him during a critical moment. Since being discharged from University Hospital Wales on Monday, Peacey has been undergoing medical tests. He praised the boys for their actions, emphasizing the positive side of young people amid often negative portrayals in the media.

During a reunion in the BBC Radio Wales Breakfast studio at Cardiff’s Central Square, the boys shared their experience of the incident. Josh described how he saw Peacey collapse and immediately ran over to assist him. Using his jacket, Josh supported Peacey’s head and placed him in the recovery position to ensure his safety.

While Josh was attending to Peacey, Taylor went to seek help. Although no medical professionals were nearby, a security guard at the festival offered assistance and contacted emergency services by calling 999. This teamwork was crucial in ensuring Peacey received prompt care.

Reflecting on his actions, Josh said, “It would be just wrong if I’d left him there,” and added, “It feels wrong to see someone injured or need support and not have it.” The boys’ quick thinking and compassion clearly made a significant difference in a challenging situation
