Boy, 17, dies in two-car crash near Beachy Head, Eastbourne

A fatal road accident involving two vehicles occurred near Eastbourne on the evening of Friday, 26 June. According to Sussex Police, a 17-year-old boy who was a passenger in one of the cars lost his life in the collision, which took place at approximately 9:30 pm BST close to Shooters Bottom car park by Beach Head.

In addition to the teenager’s tragic death, three other individuals sustained serious injuries in the crash. Among them were a 19-year-old man from Polegate and a 21-year-old man from Hellingly, who were both passengers in the same vehicle as the deceased. The driver of the second car, aged 21, also suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident.

Authorities are currently seeking assistance from the public to help with their ongoing investigation. Sussex Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or who may have captured footage related to the collision. Det Sgt Ian Foxton, part of the force’s serious collision investigation unit, emphasized the importance of this appeal: “We are aware there were a number of people in the area at the time of the collision and we would ask anyone who hasn’t spoken to us or has any video or dashcam footage to get in touch.”

The police have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward to support the investigation as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event
