A serious incident occurred near Pontyclun train station where a woman sustained significant injuries after being trapped beneath a fallen telegraph pole in the station’s car park. The event prompted an urgent response from emergency services.
South Wales Police confirmed that officers received a call around 12:50 BST on Thursday following reports that two women were trapped in the area. Upon arrival, the emergency teams assisted both individuals and arranged for their transfer to medical facilities.
The two women were taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff to receive treatment. Since then, one of the women has been discharged, while the other remains under medical care for her injuries.
Authorities have stated they are cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive as part of the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident at the train station
