A large crowd endured intense heat to watch participants from various countries compete in the annual cheese rolling event held on Cooper’s Hill in Brockworth. Competitors chased after a 7-pound (3-kilogram) wheel of Double Gloucester cheese as it sped down a steep slope with a 1:2 gradient.

In the men’s race, YouTuber Tom Kopke emerged victorious, securing the win in the first competition of the event. On the women’s side, Alix Heugas from France claimed the top position, showcasing her skill in this unique and challenging contest.

Prior to the races, Chris Anderson, a 23-time champion, was honored with a Guinness World Record for the most wins accumulated from 2002 to 2022. Anderson, having come out of retirement to compete once more, put up a strong performance but ultimately finished in second place behind Kopke.
