Fourth person charged over Coventry stabbing murder

Authorities have charged a fourth individual in relation to the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old in Coventry. Ismail Nabeel, also aged 18 and from Coventry, faces charges of murder and attempted murder following the stabbing incident involving Michael Ababio near Foleshill Library on Broad Street on 22 February.

Nabeel remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Detective Inspector Nigel Box noted that specially trained officers are continuing to provide support to Michael Ababio’s family and have kept them informed of recent developments, including the new charge.

Efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic event in February remain ongoing. Det Insp Box emphasized the commitment of officers working tirelessly on the case and urged anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact the police to assist in the investigation.

In addition to Nabeel, three others have already been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the case. These individuals include Mahad Mohammed, 19, and two 17-year-olds whose identities are protected due to their age. All three appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court last month, were remanded in custody, pleaded not guilty at Warwick Crown Court, and are set to face trial starting on 1 September
