Police say man arrested over 'intimidating behaviour' near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's home

A man has been detained on suspicion of a public order offense and carrying an offensive weapon near the Norfolk residence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The incident took place in the village of Wolferton, close to the Sandringham Estate, when police responded to reports of intimidating behavior at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesday.

According to reports from the Daily Telegraph, the suspect, who was wearing a balaclava, ran towards Mountbatten-Windsor while he was out walking his dogs. The former prince quickly got into a car with a member of his security detail and drove away as the individual allegedly attempted to follow them. The suspect had reportedly been sitting in a vehicle but exited it to approach Mountbatten-Windsor, shouting at him during the encounter.

Norfolk Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody in King’s Lynn for questioning and remains held. The situation occurred near Marsh Farm, a property on the Sandringham Estate where Mountbatten-Windsor now lives after relocating from Royal Lodge in Windsor. His move was reportedly connected to his past association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Last year, the King stripped him of his princely title and dukedom due to these links, which Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied.

The Daily Telegraph also indicated that the former duke was reportedly shaken by the event and was asked to give an official statement, as was his personal protection officer present during the incident. It is understood that the King provides Mountbatten-Windsor with a private lump-sum allowance, which includes funds for his security team. Buckingham Palace declined to offer any comment, and Mountbatten-Windsor has been approached for a response
