Nursery bills put us off having bigger family, says Flintshire mum

Charlotte Seddon, a mother of two from Connah’s Quay, has revealed that the high costs of childcare in Wales played a significant role in her family’s decisions about having more children. She explained that if childcare had been more affordable, she and her husband might have chosen to have their children closer together or even expanded their family further. “But the cost of childcare is the main concern about having them… And I think a lot of the mums that I speak to are in the same situation,” she said.
