Authorities have taken a man into custody on suspicion of murder following the death of a 74-year-old individual. The incident occurred in Trevethin, Torfaen, where police were called to a residence in Bythway Road on Thursday afternoon.

According to Gwent Police, officers responded to reports at approximately 16:55 BST regarding a man who had sustained severe injuries. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the victim, later identified as Nicholas “Brian” Parfitt, who was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The suspect, a 34-year-old man from Cwmbran, was promptly arrested in connection with the case. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the nature of the incident or any ongoing investigations.
