A man has been brought back to the UK from the United Arab Emirates to face charges related to the killing of Kamonnan Thiamphanit, who was fatally stabbed in Westminster earlier this year, according to the Metropolitan Police. The victim, 27 years old and also known as Angela, was the subject of a murder investigation following the tragic incident.
Enzo Bettamio, aged 18, was flown from Dubai to the UK on Friday. Upon arrival, he was formally charged with Angela’s murder. Authorities have confirmed that Bettamio is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday to answer the charge.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement noting that Angela’s family has been informed of the recent developments and continues to receive assistance from specialist officers. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who has been spearheading the inquiry, expressed gratitude towards the family and friends of the victim for their steady support throughout what she described as “an incredibly difficult and distressing time.”
Kamonnan Thiamphanit held dual nationality from China-Hong Kong and Thailand and had been residing in the UK for approximately nine years. She initially arrived to pursue higher education and was working in property management. The police reported that she was discovered at her residence in Westminster on 8 April 2024 with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene
