A recent undercover investigation by the BBC has uncovered the troubling reality that several UK High Street mini-marts are openly selling illicit substances such as cocaine, cannabis, nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas), and prescription medications without proper authorization. Reporters posing as customers visited shops in four adjacent towns in the West Midlands, where they were quickly and easily offered a variety of illegal drugs. One law enforcement source even described one of these streets as “lawless,” highlighting the severity of the problem.
