A group of burglars has been sentenced to prison after being caught for orchestrating a series of break-ins at affluent residences throughout the UK. Utilizing tools like Rightmove and Google, the gang meticulously planned their raids, targeting wealthy neighborhoods and homes. Over the course of their criminal activities, they stole valuables worth around £1 million, including designer watches, handbags, and gold. Remarkably, the group even set weekly goals specifying amounts of gold to steal.
At Chester Crown Court, Kristian Gropcaj, 31, George Pepa, 31, and Krisjian Dedndreaj, 29, all from the West Midlands, along with Sidorjan Lleshi, 27, from Sheffield, admitted guilt for these offenses. Their prison sentences range from nine years to ten years and nine months. Another member, Endrit Nikolli, 27, is due to be sentenced later. Nikolli’s partner, Jade Tubb from Walsall, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess criminal property, receiving a 12-month suspended sentence and 200 hours of community service.
Judge Patrick Thompson condemned the group’s actions, emphasizing how their crimes inflicted psychological damage on their victims. He stated, “You have taken something from them that cannot be replaced. You have taken their sense of security in their own homes and left them feeling vulnerable and uneasy.” The judge highlighted the emotional toll, noting that the burglaries left people suffering from anxiety and paranoia.
The men, originally from Albania, targeted homes across multiple regions, including Cheshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Birmingham, among others. They typically gained entry by climbing a ladder to the first floor, thereby bypassing many ground-floor alarm systems. Their method involved ransacking properties, using ripped bed sheets as bags for stolen goods, with CCTV footage showing one instance where they took an entire safe from a residence. The police investigation was advanced through the recovery of DNA evidence and unique shoeprints from the crime scenes. Eventually, a police raid led to the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of numerous high-value items such as 13 designer handbags and 14 watches valued at nearly £17,000. Det Sgt Laura Fox of Cheshire Police described the gang as part of a “high-level organised crime gang responsible for at least 59 high value burglaries across the UK,” with the members directly involved in the burglaries while Tubb benefited from their proceeds
