Couple in court after boy, 13, dies in Flitwick crash

A 13-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a recent car accident, leading to court proceedings involving two individuals connected to the crash. Jamie Fountain, aged 24, and Ellie Ireland, 23, were both brought before magistrates at Luton Magistrates’ Court, facing several charges related to the incident.

Fountain, who resides on Fir Tree Close in Flitwick, has been charged with causing death by careless driving, including doing so while over the legal alcohol and drug limits. Additional charges against him include two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop and report the accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ellie Ireland, living on Wingate Drive in Ampthill and employed as a cabin crew member for EasyJet, faces a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

At the time of the collision, Fountain was driving a BMW with Ireland as his passenger. Both defendants were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Luton Crown Court on 5 May. Family members of the victim, Noah, as well as relatives of Fountain and Ireland, attended the hearing. Police reported that two other boys involved in the crash were injured, with one still in a serious condition in hospital.

Noah’s family shared a heartfelt tribute through the police, remembering him as a “fun, bright, handsome, athletic” young boy who was “incredibly well-liked.” They also recalled his love of attending Liverpool and Luton Town football matches with his father.
