Son charged with murder of his 84-year-old mother in Plumstead

An elderly woman, aged 84, has passed away following an alleged stabbing carried out by her own son. The incident took place outside the woman’s residence in Plumstead, located in south-east London, according to information from the Metropolitan Police.

In addition to the fatal attack, two other individuals were reportedly threatened with a knife during the event; however, neither of them sustained injuries. The suspect, identified as 62-year-old Giorgio Pin, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He now faces charges of murder along with two counts of attempted murder.

Authorities received notifications of a man wielding a knife at approximately 09:00 BST on Wednesday. Police responded swiftly and apprehended Pin within 20 minutes of the alert. The victim, Doris Innes, was found injured outside her home on Red Lion Place. Emergency medical personnel transported her to the hospital, where she later died.

Giorgio Pin, who resides on nearby Brookhill Road, is scheduled to appear in Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday to face the charges. The investigation remains ongoing as the community processes this tragic event
