A serious accident involving a car and a motorcycle has led to the closure of the M1 southbound near Luton Airport. The road was shut between junctions 10 and 11 at approximately 07:45 BST, according to National Highways.
Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, are currently attending the scene. The incident has caused significant disruption, with drivers experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes.
To manage traffic congestion, motorists are being diverted off the M1. The alternative route takes drivers onto the A505 and then the A5 through Dunstable.
Authorities have put these diversions in place to ease the flow of vehicles while the investigation and clearance of the crash site continue. Commuters are advised to plan for extra travel time in the affected area
