Ahmad Mulakhil, an asylum seeker from Afghanistan, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being convicted of abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl. The incident took place last summer in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and sparked public protests in the area.
Last month, jurors delivered a guilty verdict against the 23-year-old, finding him responsible for multiple offenses including rape, abduction, sexual assault, and the creation of an indecent video.
