Nigel Farage pauses Cameo account for security reasons, says Reform UK

Nigel Farage has ceased providing personalised video messages on the Cameo platform following a report by the Guardian revealing that he had recorded clips endorsing a man convicted of violent disorder as well as attending a neo-Nazi event. Farage, who became an MP in 2024 and leads Reform UK, has earned over £80,000 through Cameo by filming custom messages for individuals.

The Guardian’s investigation uncovered troubling instances within Farage’s recordings, including one where he suggested that an event hosted by a Canadian neo-Nazi group might be seen as “the best thing that ever happened.” Another message contained a disparaging remark about the breasts of a US congresswoman. In response to these revelations, a spokesperson for Reform UK said that Farage’s use of the platform has been “paused for security reasons.” They emphasised that Farage recorded the clips “in good faith and without knowledge of the individuals involved beyond what is written for him,” noting that any misuse of the messages by recipients falls outside Farage’s control.

Criticism has come from multiple political fronts, with Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson Max Wilkinson MP condemning Farage’s involvement with Cameo as a “shameless Cameo cash grab.” Wilkinson added, “For the right price, he will apparently say almost anything. If he ever gets into power he will sell the country out in a heartbeat.” Meanwhile, Farage’s Cameo profile—now inactive—had described his offerings as personalised messages suitable for a range of occasions, delivered with his signature “straight-talking, anti-establishment style.”

The Guardian’s report also detailed specific examples of messages filmed by Farage since he joined the platform in April 2021. One clip reportedly cost £155 and was sent to a man sentenced to prison for violent behaviour during a protest, in which Farage said: “I know you’ve really, really been through the mill and I’m sorry. All I can say is keep your head up, keep believing in the right things, keep acting in the right way, and in the end… good triumphs over evil.” Another message mocked someone for “simpering for [US congresswoman] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s big naturals.” He also recorded a wedding message in July 2025 that insulted Welsh guests at the event, saying: “Gutted I couldn’t attend the wedding. I wanted to come, but I heard that half the guests were Welsh, and I don’t know. Who knows what would have happened with all those foreign speakers there. I don’t know.” This led to widespread criticism, with figures such as Welsh Conservative Senedd leader Darren Millar calling the comment a “gross insult to the people of Wales,” while a Welsh Labour spokesperson accused Farage of showing disdain for the Welsh language and people. In response, Reform Member of the Senedd James Evans highlighted the party’s respect for Wales’ bilingual nature, stating: “Wales, let me be very clear, is a bilingual nation. We speak English and Welsh, and whatever language you speak, you should feel welcome in our country.
